District Champs - 4 Years in a Row

The Bears played their district game at Pioneer Pleasant-Vale High School (south of Enid) due to the rain that poured over the Black Bears baseball diamond. The Bears sweep the Tonkawa Buccaneers by a combined 24-3. It was noted that Cale was intentionally walked five times by the Buccaneers. The district champs under Coach Rainwater 2004 and 2005, while Coach Freeman keeps the winning ways for 2006 and 2007.

Bears were shutout
PAWHUSKA — Class 2A No.11 Pawnee managed just two hits in a 14-0 loss at Pawhuska. Cale Ellis and Adam Bruns had the only hits and the Black Bears (10-3) committed five errors. “(Phillipee) is the best we’ve seen all year,” said Pawnee coach Jared Freeman, whose club is scheduled to play at Cushing today. Barnsdall Tournament

BARNSDALL — Pawnee edged Barnsdall, but Glencoe couldn’t beat the snow on Day 2 of the Barnsdall Tournament.
Pawnee’s Nick Bell (4-1) and Cale Ellis combined to allow just five hits and Class 2A’s 15th-ranked Black Bears (7-2) advanced to today’s title game against either Glencoe or Pawhuska. An RBI single by Cale Ellis highlighted a four-run second inning as PHS took a 5-1 lead.
Three Bear errors led to three BHS runs in the fifth, but Ellis, who entered with one out in the seventh, struck out two to close things out.
Pawnee beat Shidler, 8-0, on Wednesday to move to the semifinals. (Stillwater NewsPress - April 6, 2007)
